Frederick N. Dello Russo, Jr. was born and raised in Medford, MA. He attended the Kennedy and Lincoln Schools and graduated from Malden Catholic High School with the class of 1984. After attending Saint Anselm College in Manchester, NH for two years, he enrolled at the New England Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences, Boston. In 1987, he was awarded an Associate Degree in Mortuary Science and was licensed as a funeral director and embalmer in Massachusetts. At the same time he was active with his family in the operation of their funeral home on Main St., Medford. In 1990, Fred returned to St. Anselm and entered the Benedictine Order of monks, which conducts the college. He completed his college studies earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History, continued on to study in the graduate school of theology at Saint John Seminary in Brighton, MA and then worked as an admissions officer at Saint Anselm College. After leaving religious life in 2002, he returned to Medford where he owns a home on Main St. and manages his family business, the Dello Russo Funeral Home.
